These words of St. Josemaría Escrivá so perfectly capture August at Relevant Radio®. Not only was it a time to honor the Blessed Mother in a special way, it also was a time to seek Her help with a special need. And like any loving Mom, She came through for us — as we know that She always will!

Feast of the Assumption

Some 2,000 of the faithful were on hand August 15 as Bishop David Ricken of Green Bay celebrated Mass at the Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help in Champion, WI (check out the bishop’s homily here). Relevant Radio was there, too, chronicling the Mass as well as the Benediction of the Most Blessed Sacrament and Rosary procession that followed. Drew Mariani even broadcast live from the shrine.

The August pledge drive is typically our most challenging, given many people’s vacation downtime. But in a true demonstration of the efficacy of the Memorare, listeners like you responded with more than $1.2 million in gifts, big and small — including $21 from an 8-year-old boy, who generously gave to us all of his allowance savings. |

Prayers Needed

As we begin September, would you please join me in praying for our Lady’s intercession? First, on behalf of Chicago’s Cardinal Francis George, whose cancer has returned. Second, for the success of the 54-Day Rosary Novena (which begins September 14) for the 2012 elections, so that God will bless our nation and help us to choose good leaders. |
Remember: None of our endeavors, or worries, or fears need be daunting with Our Lady at our side. Blessed be the name of Mary, Virgin and Mother! May She watch over you in the coming month, and may God richly bless you and yours.
