Day 50: Queen Conceived Without Original Sin, Pray for Us!

Queen without original sin

“Conceived without original sin” refers to one of the four Marian Dogmas, known as the Immaculate Conception, defined by Pope Pius IX in 1854, when he said:

We declare, pronounce, and define that the doctrine which holds that the most Blessed Virgin Mary, in the first instance of her conception, by a singular grace and privilege granted by Almighty God, in view of the merits of Jesus Christ, the Saviour of the human race, was preserved free from all stain of original sin, is a doctrine revealed by God and therefore to be believed firmly and constantly by all the faithful.

Our Lady, under the title of the Immaculate Conception is the Patroness of the Church in the United States, as well as the Archdiocese of Chicago. And it was Pope Leo XIII who added this title to the Litany in 1883.

Queen Conceived without original sin, pray for the Church and the nation.

On Tuesdays we pray the Sorrowful Mysteries.
