St. Joseph’s Workshop with Father Matthew Spencer, June 11, 2018

On today’s show:

  • Father shares an experience that he had regarding a difficult weekend, which was going to be very busy, and which he felt under the weather. Everything was going wrong. His patience was wearing thin – and he realized that the solution to things was within, and not without.
  • Roger Martin knows a lot about designers of different fields: “Designers always live life intentionally”. Seemingly nothing is random in their lives. All of us are made in God’s image; we are all creative in some aspect. God calls us to bring out creativity; He wants us to participate.
  • Pope Francis has very down-to-earth analogies; he said in 2014 that vanity is “like an onion”. Vanity is sometimes confused with pride. Vanity is something our world utilizes our world focuses on appearance and finding our value in how we look.
  • Father talks about his physical injuries. God blesses us by giving us certain capacities, and he does not bless us with others. His friend asked him if he gets resentful; his initial response was “Yes!” All of a sudden he realized that his attitude is simply a state of mind.
