- What happens when you die? Do you worry about death? Supposedly, the most common fear is public speaking; after that, it’s the fear of death. Those who have glimpsed the ‘other side’ often say that there is no reason to fear, however. There are also those who seem to be very uncomfortable at the point of death. Fr. Robert Spitzer has said that those who were blind could suddenly see when they passed away and witnessed the reality of death. Could our unique experience of death have to do with where we are with our relationship with God? Tina Poppe has been a hospice nurse, and she shares what she knows.
