- The popular vote and electoral vote can cause different outcomes in elections. In 2016, Clinton won the popular vote but the electoral votes still gave Donald Trump the win. Now, some Democrats want the electoral vote abolished, but what impact would this have? Shouldn’t every part in the country be given a fair count? Trent England has started the Save Our States Initiative and joins Drew to discuss.
- The USCCB and Catholic bishops have put out videos which discuss faithful citizenship and voting in the next election. They reiterate that life should be first and foremost, but other issues like immigration, climate, and racism also need to be considered to some degree. What will it take to avoid polarization and what can we do to bring about unity going into 2020? How can we find common ground and promote the common good? Msgr Stuart Swetland gives his take.
