Suicide Prevention: How to Help Those at Risk

Suicide is the 10th leading cause of death among Americans, and has increased by 25% since 1999. The recent deaths of Kate Spade and Anthony Bourdain have been a sad reminder that even worldly success does not shield us from the risk factors that may lead to suicide. We encourage those who are having suicidal thoughts to reach out for professional help, but what can we as their loved ones do to support them?

Dr. Francie Broghammer, a resident physician at University of California Irvine, stopped by The Drew Mariani Show™ and offered several practical ways to help and support someone who is at risk for suicide.
