Relevant Radio® is blessed with so many amazing volunteers, and this month we want to introduce you to Gary Zimmermann, our November 2019 Volunteer of the Month!
Gary is a Parish Ambassador at St. Timothy’s in Mesa, AZ and he and his wife, Barb, have three adult children and six grandchildren. They are both converts to Catholicism from the Lutheran tradition, having completed RCIA and entering the Church in 2010.
On the decision to become a Parish Ambassador, Gary explained, “As we went through the process of conversion, many different forms of media – books, websites, television and radio – were all extremely helpful and influential. The Relevant Radio Ambassadorship was something I felt drawn to at our parish, which is very vibrant and active, yet didn’t have anyone in that role.”
“Knowing how influential Catholic radio had been in our faith walk, it really felt like a great opportunity for me to give back.”
And give back he has! Gary worked with the church staff to set up a permanent display in the entrance to the church, as well as put together a Relevant Radio presence at all Masses on a weekend in August. He also worked with the stewardship committee to have Relevant Radio represented at all quarterly new parishioner dinners and include a program guide in each of their welcome packets.
Thank you Gary, and all our Parish Ambassadors, for all you do! Find out how you can volunteer for Relevant Radio, and consider becoming a Parish Ambassador in your community today!
