The theme of Revival Session 3 on Friday, July 19th was “Into Gethsemane” which formed an altogether different atmosphere from the previous days at the Congress. As noted by a post by the Eucharistic Revival, “Today, we bore our hearts to the Father. Today, we adored the Son. Today, we were raw with the Holy Spirit.”
Day 3 featured much pain, tragedy, and sorrow, but it also featured much healing, forgiveness, and reconciliation. God is an all-merciful God, but we can only receive that mercy if we ask for it. God is waiting for us with open arms. There is shame in sin, but there is no shame in apologizing and asking for forgiveness.
On Fridays, we remember the sacrifice that Jesus Christ made on Calvary on Good Friday. He died for our sins, so let us not allow that sacrifice to pass by us without uniting ourselves to the cross and forgiving as Jesus forgives, praying as Jesus prayed, and loving as Jesus loves.
