The Impact of Chemical Abortion on Women (Trending with Timmerie)

In this powerful episode of Trending with Timmerie, she sits down with Dr. Christina Francis, a pro-life OB-GYN and CEO of the American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Together, they uncover the heartbreaking reality of chemical abortions, a procedure that now accounts for nearly 70% of all abortions in the U.S.

Chemical abortion isn’t as “simple” or “safe” as the abortion industry claims. Dr. Francis walks us through the harsh truth: women are often handed two sets of pills (mifepristone and misoprostol), with no doctor in sight and little understanding of the trauma and risks they’re about to face. It’s devastating. 😢

Here’s what really happens:

The first pill, mifepristone, cuts off nutrients to the baby by blocking progesterone, causing the baby’s death.

The second pill, misoprostol, forces the body into labor, which means women experience severe pain and heavy bleeding, often delivering their deceased baby at home… alone, confused, and emotionally devastated.

It’s shocking that women, especially young college girls, are told by the abortion industry that this is “just like taking Tylenol.” Nothing could be further from the truth. Many women experience intense mental anguish after seeing their tiny baby, sometimes still moving, between the sheets of their bed or dorm room. 💔 These are real, living babies. The horror of delivering them in such a way leaves a lasting impact on these women’s lives: emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.

The damage isn’t just emotional. The physical dangers are real, too:

Heavy bleeding

Risk of incomplete abortions (which happens in 10% of cases, requiring surgery)

Infection and hemorrhaging

Increased risk of needing blood transfusions

No access to a doctor when complications arise

Dr. Francis emphasizes that women are being abandoned by the medical system. There’s no relationship with a physician; they’re left alone to figure out how sick is too sick or when they’re bleeding too much. It’s heartbreaking negligence. These women, who are already in pain and emotional turmoil, feel shame, guilt, and even believe they deserve this suffering because of what they’ve done.

Timmerie and Dr. Francis bring it all back to what truly matters: life and dignity for both the woman and her baby. The real pro-woman position is the pro-life position: supporting women before, during, and after pregnancy, and offering real help, not abandonment.

Women deserve so much better than this. 🕊 Let’s continue to stand for life, offer compassion, and shine a light on the truth. Every life matters, and every woman deserves the full support she needs to choose life, not a path of pain and regret.
