Why Is Marriage Under Attack?

Drew kicked things off by calling out the real enemy: Satan. He reminded us that marriage is a sacred covenant designed by God to reflect His love. The devil hates it. Thatโ€™s why we see so many attacks on marriage, from infidelity to divorce to the total redefinition of family.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Sister Lucia of Fatima even warned that โ€œthe final battle between God and Satan would be over marriage and familyโ€; wellโ€ฆ look around. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

๐Ÿ’” Can A Marriage Survive Infidelity?

Doug Hinderer, therapist and author, weighed in on the hard but hopeful truth:

โœ”๏ธ Yes, marriages can heal after infidelity.

โœ”๏ธ BUT the unfaithful spouse has to truly repent and change.

โœ”๏ธ Sacraments are key: confession, prayer, the Eucharist. ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ

โœ”๏ธ Forgiveness is a must: not just for the cheaterโ€™s soul, but for the betrayed spouseโ€™s healing.

Dougโ€™s big message is that some couples come out of this stronger than everโ€ฆ but only when they lean on God.

๐Ÿ“ž Heartbreaking Caller Stories

๐Ÿ’ฌ Joe from Florida: Divorced just a month ago, still wondering if his wife left for another man. Drew and Doug encouraged him not to torment himself with โ€œwhat-ifsโ€ but to keep praying and trusting God with the unknown.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Sharon from Arizona: Married 33 years, thought everything was fine, but her husband blindsided her with a divorce, drained their finances, and moved in with a younger woman. ๐Ÿ˜ข Sheโ€™s devastated but choosing forgiveness and praying for his conversion. Drew and Doug urged her to fight for her legal rights while also leaving space for God to work.

Why Forgiveness Matters (Even When It Feels Impossible)

Doug reminded us of one of the scariest Bible passages:

๐Ÿ“– โ€œIf you forgive others, your heavenly Father will forgive you. If you do not forgive others, your Father will not forgive you.โ€ (Matt. 6:14-15)

YIKES. ๐Ÿ˜ณ That means forgiveness isnโ€™t optionalโ€ฆ itโ€™s a spiritual necessity. Not easy, but necessary.

๐Ÿ’ก Takeaways:

๐Ÿ”น Marriage is sacred, and Satan hates itโ€ฆ so expect attacks.

๐Ÿ”น Healing is possible after betrayal, but it requires serious repentance and grace.

๐Ÿ”น Forgiveness isnโ€™t about excusing sin; itโ€™s about freeing yourself.

๐Ÿ”น Prayer is powerful: never stop praying for your spouse, even if theyโ€™ve hurt you.

๐Ÿ”ฅFinal thought from Drew: โ€œLetโ€™s pray for these marriages. And for one another.โ€ ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’™
