How Does Your Morning Offering Help the Pope? (Morning Air)

John Morales chats with Fr. James Kubicki, SJ, about why praying for the Pope’s intentions is powerful, global, and Eucharistic.

Here’s the scoop in a nutshell:

🙏 What’s the Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network?

It started way back in 1844 when some young Jesuit seminarians in France were itching to do something for God, but they were “just” stuck studying philosophy.

Their spiritual director basically said:
👉 “You can be missionaries right now… through prayer.”

Fast-forward: by the 1870s, Pope Leo XIII began giving monthly intentions, and today it’s known as the Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network, the biggest prayer group on the planet. 🌍

💖 Why Should We Care?

Fr. Kubicki explains that the Morning Offering is a part of Eucharistic life. We offer our “prayers, works, joys, and sufferings in union with the Masses offered around the world”.

Even if you can’t get to daily Mass, your morning offering unites you to Jesus’ sacrifice.

You can join a global symphony of prayer, especially for the intentions burning in Jesus’ Sacred Heart 💔🔥.

Pope Leo XIV + The Prayer Intentions

Even though Pope Francis passed away, his 2025 intentions are still being prayed. Pope Leo has embraced them as his own until 2026.

The Pope makes monthly video reflections (find them at the Pope Video) — where you can hear his heart behind the intention.

The Power of the Morning Offering

Fr. Kubicki and John share how the morning offering became life-changing for them: John says he never misses it (even at 3:45 am😅☕). Fr. Kubicki has prayed it daily since he was a teen at Jesuit high school.

They both mention:
👉 Offering sufferings is key… not just joys, not just work, but the tough stuff too.
👉 Remember: even if you’re praying alone in your room, you’re linked to millions worldwide.

Why This Matters to You

The world feels messy, overwhelming, and noisy. But…
✅ You + me + our little prayers matter.
✅ We don’t pray alone; we’re part of Christ’s Body, united across continents.
✅ When we join the Pope’s intentions, we plug into God’s heart for the world.

Start your day: “O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary, I offer you my prayers, works, joys, and sufferings…”

Check the intention: What’s the Pope praying for this month? Join him!

Remember the Sacred Heart: We’re joining Jesus’ own longing for souls.

Your life, even in its smallest moments, can be offered, transformed, and made fruitful. That grumpy commute, that frustrating email, that unexpected joy — all of it can be prayer. 💛
