How Jesus Multiplies Our Loaves and Fishes (Morning Air)

Do you ever look at your bank account, your calendar, or your spiritual life and think: Welp… that’s it. I’ve got nothing left?

That’s exactly what Catholic evangelist Gary Zimak and John Morales talk about, and it’s the kind of perspective that will encourage you to trust that God can still use you.

Let’s rewind to the Gospel scene in John 6:
Jesus is staring at a massive crowd… thousands of people. He turns to Philip and basically says, “So, where can we get food for everyone?” (John 6:5–9). Philip does the mental math and panics. Andrew, bless his heart, points to a kid with five loaves and two fish, but even he’s like, “…but what good is this for so many?”

It’s plenty, but not because of the math. It’s because of Jesus.

“Not Enough” Is Jesus’ Specialty

Gary Zimak brings this Gospel passage right into the middle of our messy 2025 lives.

👉 He has found himself thinking, “I don’t have what it takes. I can’t do this. I’m not holy enough, rich enough, strong enough…”
Sound familiar? That’s literally the script most of us are running on loop.

But here’s the thing:
“With Jesus, not enough becomes more than enough.” 🙌

So, if you’re hanging on by a thread, feeling like you’ve got nothing left to give… emotionally, financially, spiritually, you’re exactly where God does His best work.

🧒 Don’t Overlook the Boy

You know what gets overshadowed in this Gospel passage?
The boy. The kid with the bread and fish.

He could’ve kept his lunch and left early. But instead, he gave what he had… even if it felt small. He probably didn’t expect a miracle. But Jesus used it anyway.

Gary connects this to something most of us don’t think about when we hear this story: generosity.
Especially during the Relevant Radio Answer the Call Summer Pledge Drive, this Gospel resonates. You might think, “My donation isn’t going to make a difference.” But Jesus says, “Watch Me.” You can give online to help bring Christ to the world through the media, or call (877) 291-0123.

Whether it’s your time, talent, money, or even your prayer life… Jesus can multiply whatever you’re willing to hand over. Your five loaves and two fish are enough.

💬 Feeling Helpless? You’re Not.

Gary says he knows you might feel helpless. Maybe you’ve hit that wall where anxiety, finances, grief, or burnout are getting the best of you.

But here’s the truth:

“We are never helpless,” Gary says. “We might feel helpless. But we always have prayer. We always have the Eucharist. We always have Jesus.”

Even if you’ve got nothing in your hands but a whispered prayer, that’s something. That’s powerful. 🙏

😭 Don’t Let the Devil Convince You You’re Useless

Seriously. One of Satan’s favorite lies is convincing you that if you can’t give BIG, you shouldn’t give at all. That’s a lie. 🚫

What did Jesus ask of the boy? It was just his little lunch, and thousands were fed.

So, whether it’s contributing to Relevant Radio, helping a neighbor, forgiving someone, or just getting yourself to Mass this week… give Him what you’ve got. He can work with that. 💯
