“I Knew My Wife for 83 Years, and I Miss Her Terribly.” (Marriage Unhindered)

If you’re not crying by the end of this one… check your pulse, friend. On Marriage Unhindered, Doug Hinderer talks to an unforgettable caller named Vito from Bloomfield, NJ. He shares the kind of love story that rivals any other movie or book out there.

Here’s the heart-melting, tear-jerking, faith-filled recap you didn’t know you needed:

🧒👧 It Started at Age 6…

Vito and his future wife literally grew up together; he lived on the second floor, and she was on the first. From the day her family moved in… they were never apart. As Vito put it, they were “together for 83 years,” not just 66.5 years of marriage.

“The Secret is There Are No Secrets” – Vito

According to Vito, the key to a lasting marriage is simple:

-Let the Lord in, every day. 🙏

-Be affectionate (constant hugs and kisses affection 💋).

-Always say “I love you” and “I’m sorry”.

-Support each other’s dreams and give each other freedom.

-And yes, prayer. Together. Daily.

🥹 Love That Rubbed Off

Their kids grew up seeing real love in action:

-Vito would kiss his wife goodbye every single day, even if he was running late. 😘

-He’d rally the kids to ambush mom with hugs and kisses: “Let’s go surprise mommy!”

-Family lovefests included saying “I love you” in all directions like a joyful holy hug circle. 🫶

💔 After She Passed…

Vito misses her so much, but he still thanks God constantly:

-For bringing them together

-For carrying them through the tough times

-And for being the glue that held it all together

📣 Doug’s Advice

Doug was floored and 100% right when he says:

“Vito, your story needs to be a made-for-TV movie! Have your daughters write it all down.”

💬 Final Thought

Vito’s life is proof that real love is about Christ at the center, daily choices, and a boatload of hugs.

So, next time you’re annoyed at your spouse for forgetting the milk… remember Vito’s example and go give your spouse a kiss. For more joyful love stories, be sure to listen to the whole hour!
