🔁 A Cycle of Divorce… and a Surprise Plot Twist

Doug walks you through the jaw-dropping, beautiful, messy, totally relatable story of a woman who was married three times, cheated during marriage #2, was a “well-intentioned mess”, and she saw relationships as adventures rather than covenants. She was always looking for the next thrill, and marriage was just another romantic high.

She carried deep wounds from past breakups, childhood trauma, and her parents’ divorces. That pain came right into her marriages.

Doug explains that we bring our entire past into marriage. If we don’t heal it, we’ll relive it.

Statistically, children of divorce are way more likely to divorce themselves. The pain does get passed on unless someone breaks the chain. 😢🔗

🙏 But Then… God Walked In

In her third marriage, things finally started to shift, because faith entered the scene:

-They started attending church.

-She discovered commitment for the first time (not just feelings).

-And eventually, her husband wanted to become Catholic.

There were major spiritual battlers at first. Eventually, she took her husband’s advice and read Catholic books… and her heart softened. She embraced the Catholic Church.

The Church’s Teaching on Divorce

That was the turning point.
Her husband couldn’t believe how casually the world and other faiths treated divorce.
But in Catholicism: Marriage = ’til death do us part. Period.

This woman and her husband now live a solid Catholic life and have a stable, strong marriage built on trust and commitment.

Here’s what Doug wants us to get, especially if you’re in a rough season:

-Marriage is hard, even the good ones.

-Rom-coms lie: The wedding isn’t the end; it’s just the beginning.

Sacrifice is love. Real love is not a warm fuzzy; it’s the Cross. 🩸💘

Generational healing is real. This couple is breaking the cycle for their kids, and you can too.

❤️ And Then This Happened…

Matthew calls in with the most touching update. After struggling with infertility, he and his wife Kelsey conceived in May, after turning to Mary. 😭🌹

Doug is over-the-moon. “Name the baby Doug!” he jokes. 😂

As Doug always says:

“Marriage isn’t about happiness; it’s about holiness. But guess what? Holy people ARE happy people. 🙌🔥
