Patrick Madrid shares some awesome Catholic news!
🌍 World Youth Day 2027 will be in Seoul, South Korea!
You read that right. The Vatican just confirmed that the next WYD (August 3–8, 2027) is headed to Seoul, and it’s historic.
The Theme? PEACE.
Bishop Paul Kyung-sang Lee said the theme is about peace:
Peace between North and South Korea (yes, still divided)
Peace between religions
Peace for the next generation, so they don’t inherit more conflict
At the closing Mass for the Jubilee of Youth in Rome, Pope Leo announced Seoul as the next destination, and the 1 million young people there went NUTS. He told them:
“You young Pilgrims of Hope will be witnesses of this to the ends of the earth.”
This is only the second time WYD will be in Asia. The first was 1995 in Manila.
So yeah… Patrick is feeling a little FOMO since WYD didn’t exist when he was a kid (“I’m not a ‘yute’ anymore” lol), but he’s so thrilled for the next generation.
If you’ve never been to a World Youth Day, start praying, planning, and budgeting now. Seoul 2027 is going to be something ✨heavenly✨.
🙏 Pray about it. 👥 Talk to your parish group. Start looking at flights. Let’s goooo.
