How have you been processing this news about Charlie Kirk? Has it left you feeling confused, sad, or disheartened?
A caller named Cindy offers a simple but powerful reminder for our nation: we need Jesus now more than ever.
In the wake of tragedy and division following the shocking assassination of Charlie Kirk, Cindy notes that some people responded not with mourning, but with celebration. For her, this disturbing reaction reveals something deeper – the absence of Christ in many hearts.
“And when we see people rejoicing over someone’s death, that’s an indicator they’re lacking Jesus in their lives because as Christians, we don’t rejoice over death,” Cindy said.
Patrick agrees completely, saying that politics, anger, and cultural battles cannot heal the wounds of our nation – only Christ can.
The Legacy of Charlie Kirk and the Lesson for Us All
Cindy reminds you that while Charlie Kirk dedicated much of his life to speaking boldly about politics and culture, he never separated his convictions from his faith. His courage flowed from his belief in God and his defense of truth.
She challenges us to continue his legacy not only by defending freedom and life but by bringing the Gospel to our families, friends, and communities. “When people put Jesus above everything else,” she says, “everything else falls into order.”
Patrick reinforces her point, mentioning that America’s true crisis is not primarily political but spiritual. “What we need now is the Lord’s presence in the hearts and minds of everybody – left, right, center…” he says.
How can you bring peace and the Lord’s presence into your community today? Can you stop by the adoration chapel to ask Jesus to fill your heart? As Fr. Rocky says: “You can’t give when you don’t have.”
