In this moving episode of Father Simon Says, Fr. Richard Simon takes a call from Emma in the Bay Area, who recently discovered that her parents had aborted her sibling decades ago. Struggling with grief, forgiveness, and questions about generational sin, Emma asks how to pray through this wound.
Fr. Simon leads her in a powerful prayer – entrusting the child to Jesus, asking for forgiveness for her parents, and placing the cross of Christ between her family and past sin. He encourages her to offer Masses for the soul of her sibling and for her parents.
This tender moment shows the depth of God’s mercy and the hope of reunion in His Kingdom.
Father Simon’s Prayer for Healing After Abortion
Fr. Simon asks Emma to picture her little sibling and then to hand the child to Jesus in prayer. Together they pray:
Lord Jesus,
I give you this child,
and I ask you to receive this baby,
and to care for it until I meet this baby in Your Kingdom.
I ask You to forgive my parents for what they did.
Thank You, Jesus.
