Jesus’ Deep Love for Mother Mary (The Inner Life with Patrick Conley)

In this episode of The Inner Life with Patrick Conley, Franciscan Friar Fr. Daniel Klimek helps listeners understand why Jesus loves His Mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary, so deeply – and what that means for our own spiritual lives. Reflecting on the Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary, Fr. Klimek explains that Mary’s greatness isn’t only in her biological motherhood of Jesus, but in her perfect obedience to the will of God.

When a listener named Jackie asks about the Gospel passage where Jesus says, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it,” Fr. Klimek clarifies that this isn’t a rejection of Mary, as some might think, but an implicit praise of her faith. No one lived this verse more fully than Our Lady herself, who listened, believed, and surrendered entirely to God’s plan from the Annunciation onward.

Fr. Klimek shows that Christ’s love for His Mother is rooted in her holiness, humility, and unwavering “yes” to God. By meditating on this truth, we can renew our devotion to Mary and rediscover the living heart of the Rosary – where every mystery leads us closer to Jesus through His Mother.
