Relevant Radio® hosted a priest intern at the network’s national headquarters in Green Bay, Wisconsin, this August. Rev. Nathaniel Gentizon (Fr. Nat), a priest from the Philippines, interned at Relevant Radio during a one-month program to learn more about Catholic media and running a radio network.
Fr. Nat is a priest of the Archdiocese of Jaro, Iloilo, in the Philippines. He has just completed his licentiate in Institutional Social Communications at the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross (Santa Croce) in Rome.
During his time at Relevant Radio, Fr. Nat met with each department in the organization, learning how the departments work together to support the mission. He spent time in the studio during the live shows to get a behind-the-scenes look at what goes into producing a live radio program. He hopes to use what he has learned to serve his archdiocese back home.
In addition to the valuable knowledge he gained during his internship, Fr. Nat emphasized that he was especially inspired by the foundation of prayer in the organization. The culture of prayer at Relevant Radio—where associates pray with each other and for the people they serve—is something he hopes to bring with him in his priestly service.
Fr. Nat led a discussion with associates about Catholic media in the United States and shared his own faith journey. Associates learned about Fr. Nat’s culture, vocation story, and the Catholic Church in the Philippines.
This is the fifth consecutive year that Relevant Radio has hosted a priest intern from Holy Cross University.
