Astronaut Mike Hopkins: Bringing Christ to All Nations and All Worlds

The Catholic Church has brought Jesus Christ virtually everywhere on earth, and we are called still to spread His message to every corner of the planet. But what about the universe beyond our planet? What if there is life on another planet? What if there are aliens?

Emcee Montse Alvarado asked Fr. Robert Spitzer these questions off-stage at the National Eucharistic Congress and he responded simply, “Well, Montse, if you do encounter extraterrestrial life, you bring them to Christ. You introduce them to the King of the Universe!”

Christ has not only been all over Earth, but He has also been beyond our atmosphere in the pocket of Catholic astronaut, Mike Hopkins, who went on a mission to the ISS in 2013 bearing a pyx containing the Holy Eucharist.

“No matter what happened, Jesus Christ was with me.”
