Leaving the Homosexual Lifestyle: A Conversation with Kim Zember (The Drew Mariani Show)

🎙️ At the National Eucharistic Congress, Drew Mariani sat down with Kim Zember as she shared her powerful story about leaving the homosexual lifestyle and finding her true identity in Christ. Her journey is a testament to the transformative power of God’s love.

Starting from High School 🚶‍♀️

Kim grew up in a Catholic family, knowing the Church’s teachings but still feeling a strong attraction to women. She describes this internal struggle, feeling that while she knew what was considered right, her feelings seemed natural. This confusion followed her through high school and into adulthood.

Living a Double Life 💔

For over a decade, Kim lived a double life, hiding her relationships with women and feeling increasingly disconnected from her true self. Despite her attractions, she never identified as “gay,” which she believes was a grace from God. This allowed her to resist making her attractions her entire identity.

A Radical Encounter with Jesus

Everything changed for Kim on October 17, 2014, at a Protestant prayer meeting. Desperate and broken, she cried out to God for help. That night, she had a profound encounter with the Holy Spirit, which radically transformed her life. She felt as if “heaven invaded her entire being,” filling her with an intense hunger for God’s Word and the sacraments.

Embracing Her True Identity 🌺

After this encounter, Kim began a journey of discovering her true identity as a beloved daughter of God. This led her to start Boldly Beloved, a ministry that helps others struggling with their identity and sexuality find their way back to Christ.

Spreading the Message 📢

Through Boldly Beloved, Kim shares testimonies of individuals who have left the LGBTQ lifestyle to embrace a life in Christ. These ministries aim to meet people where they are, affirming their inherent worth while guiding them towards a deeper relationship with God.

A Book to Inspire 📚

Kim also wrote a book titled “Restless Heart”. Her story offers hope and encouragement to those at a crossroads, encouraging them to find their worth and identity in Christ.

The Church’s Role

Kim emphasizes the importance of the Church in welcoming and supporting individuals on their journey to Christ. She challenges the Church to be a place of radical love and acceptance, staying true to its teachings while embracing those seeking transformation.
