In this podcast episode of The Drew Mariani Show, Drew chats with Brian Vogrinc, a guy who, along with his late wife, has fostered an incredible 54 kids. Can you even imagine? Drew gets personal, too, sharing that his own son has fostered a child, which made the whole conversation hit even closer to home.

Brian’s story is just amazing. He and his wife were in their early twenties when they first felt the nudge to start fostering. It wasn’t something they had to do; it was something they felt called to do. And it all kicked off on Good Friday when they welcomed a three-month-old baby boy into their home. This little guy was struggling to thrive because of drug withdrawal, and Brian remembers holding him, feeling the heartbreak of knowing this baby had been completely abandoned.

Over the years, Brian and his wife opened their home to 54 kids—yeah, 54! They poured out love, even though it meant dealing with some really tough stuff. Most of these kids had been through horrific abuse, and while the Vogrincs wanted to help every single one, it wasn’t always easy. There were times when they fell in love with these kids, only to have to say goodbye, sometimes sending them back to pretty rough situations.

But amidst all the challenges, there were these incredible moments that made it all worth it. Like the time when they were fostering a little girl named Jenny. Jenny came from a tough background and didn’t have much, so when she lost a tooth, they introduced her to the idea of the tooth fairy. The next morning, Jenny woke up to find some coins under her pillow, and she was over the moon—like it was Christmas! Later that day at Mass, when the collection basket came around, Jenny took almost all the money she’d just received from the tooth fairy and put it in the basket. She kept just a dime for herself and proudly said, “I think I’ll keep a little for myself.”

Brian and his wife were floored. It was one of those moments where God used a little child to teach them about generosity and trust.

The episode doesn’t shy away from the reality of the foster care system—the highs, the lows, and everything in between. But at its core, it’s about the incredible impact that love and faith can have. Brian’s story is a beautiful reminder that when you open your heart and home, you can truly change lives.

Drew and Brian’s conversation is a powerful nudge to all of us to think about how we can serve and love others, even when it’s hard. How is God calling you to be generous?
