A Family’s Shining Example of Remaining Hopeful in a Time of Crisis

Destructive wildfires have been raging across Los Angeles, California for the past few days, incinerating houses and buildings and consuming almost 40,000 acres of land. Many have been forced to flee from their homes and businesses, and some have even lost their lives. As we remain watchful and wary during this time of crisis, it is easy to succumb to despair. But, we must remain hopeful and faithful.

We invite you to join Relevant Radio today as we unite our voices in prayer for all of those whose lives have been affected by the fires in California.

We will be praying for the safety of those in the path of the fires, for the repose of the souls of those who died, for all of the people who lost their homes and businesses, and for the first responders who are doing everything they can to contain the fires.

In the aftermath of the devastating fires, a family stands amidst the ashes of what was once their home. The charred remains of their home surround them. Yet, amidst the rubble, one thing remains untouched—statues of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Joseph. Unscathed, it is a symbol of hope and resilience against the chaos that has consumed everything else.

As the family gathers around the statue, their voices rise in unison to sing the Regina Coeli. The hymn is a joyful proclamation of Christ’s resurrection, and it’s almost paradoxical in the midst of their loss. Yet, it’s their faith that sustains them—a faith that finds strength in the presence of Mary and Joseph, who endured unimaginable suffering and remained steadfast. Their voices, strong and resolute, carry through the smoky air, a testament to the unyielding power of hope. Watch the video below or click through here.

In times of great need, we can and should follow this family’s example and turn to Our Lord and Our Blessed Mother for help.
