Is there something you wish you had never done?

If you’re like me, I bet there is! It could be an unkind word, a harsh action, or something else. Everyone has something that they regret. And it can make us worry – what will Jesus think of us when we die?

Thankfully, Jesus makes the final Twelfth Promise of the Sacred Heart:

“I promise you in the excessive mercy of my Heart that my all-powerful love will grant to all those who receive Holy Communion on the First Fridays in nine consecutive months the grace of final perseverance; they shall not die in my disgrace, nor without receiving their sacraments. My divine Heart shall be their safe refuge in this last moment.”

Imagine that! Jesus is promising that He will be with us at the moment of our death! You and I will receive our sacraments and find safety in the Sacred Heart. This is an incredible grace. The state of our souls at death determines how we’ll spend eternity. We have the choice to be with Jesus in heaven forever – or not. What would you do to make sure that you stay with Jesus?

Well, Jesus tells us what we need to do: the “First Fridays Devotion.” You have to go to Mass and receive Holy Communion every First Friday of the month for nine consecutive months. As anyone who has tried this can tell you, it’s harder than it sounds. But as anyone in Heaven can tell you, it’s worth it!
