Have you ever received a gift, but forgot to send a thank-you note?

It’s a small gesture to send a thank you and it means the world to the person who gave us the gift, but often we forget.

How often do we forget to thank God? He gives us everything and yet we often forget to thank Him. Don’t be too discouraged though, because St. Margaret Mary Alacoque made this mistake too! So there’s hope for us yet.

St. Margaret Mary promised Mary that she would become a nun if she was cured. Upon making this vow, she instantly recovered from her 4-year long fever and severe illness. What did she do next?

St. Margaret Mary Alacoque writes, “Having regained my health, I thought of nothing but seeking pleasure in enjoying my freedom, without caring to fulfill my promise.” 

How often do we forget to thank God?

But her inner vow and her growing relationship with Jesus and Mary meant that she could never truly forget. And, as we’ll see tomorrow, she began listening more and more to the voice calling her to her vocation.
