Rosary Novena Day 37: Can You Join the Angels?

Do you ask your guardian angel for help? Maybe you sometimes even forget that angels exist!

It was hard for St. Margaret Mary to forget – because she saw an angel! Specifically she saw a ‘Seraphim’ which is a type of angel.

St. Margaret Mary was working at the Visitation Convent, tending to the gardens when suddenly she felt her heart jump. She saw the Sacred Heart again:

“The Adorable Heart of my Jesus appeared to me brighter than the sun. It was surrounded by the flames of its pure love, and encircled by seraphim who sang […] ‘Love triumphs, love enjoys, the love of the Sacred heart rejoices!”

At first, she was afraid to join the angels in their ecstatic praise. But after they reassured her, she spent the next few hours rejoicing and adoring the Sacred Heart.

What is a Seraphim? St. Thomas Aquinas, the medieval theologian, describes nine ‘choirs’ or groups of angels. The Seraphim are the highest choir and they spend all their time worshiping and adoring in the presence of God. They are described in Isaiah Chapter 6 as having six wings: two covering their feet, two covering their face, and two flying. Can you imagine seeing that in a vision?

When we pray in adoration and honor the Sacred Heart, we are joining the Seraphim in honoring and worshiping God!

Today, keep in mind the angels as you pass your image of the Sacred Heart. You can even join them in adoration by saying a prayer to Jesus: “Jesus, help me honor and adore your Sacred Heart throughout the day.”
