The Church is at a crossroads. Millions watch Rome as the Church prepares to elect a new Holy Father. Many Catholics drift away from the faith, joining an increasingly secular culture. The world faces new uncertainties as technology and culture change faster than ever. But we have been here before. 

In times of need, the Church turns to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.  

    • In 1899, faced with rising atheism, Pope Leo XIII consecrated the entire world to the Sacred Heart.
    • In the 1600s, devotion to the Sacred Heart was key to inspiring the Counter-Reformation.
    • In the 1700s, the faithful in France carried flags with the Sacred Heart while resisting the French Revolution.

Today it’s our turn. 

If we honor the Sacred Heart, Jesus promised to Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque that He would “establish peace in [our] homes” and “give to priests the gift of touching the most hardened hearts.”

The 12 Promises of the
Sacred Heart of Jesus

These promises, given by Jesus to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque in 1675, offer profound peace and protection to those who honor His Sacred Heart.

  1. I will give them all the graces necessary for their state in life.
  2. I will establish peace in their homes.
  3. I will comfort them in all their afflictions.
  4. I will be their secure refuge during life and above all in death.
  5. I will bestow abundant blessings upon all their undertakings.
  6. Sinners will find in My Heart the source and infinite ocean of mercy.
  7. Tepid souls shall become fervent.
  8. Fervent souls shall quickly mount to high perfection.
  9. I will bless every place where a picture of My Heart shall be set up and honored.
  10. I will give to priests the gift of touching the most hardened hearts.
  11. Those who promote this devotion shall have their names written in My Heart, never to be effaced.
  12. I promise you in the excessive mercy of My Heart that My all-powerful love will grant to all those who communicate devoutly on the First Fridays for nine consecutive months the grace of final repentance; they will not die in My disgrace nor without receiving the sacraments; My Divine Heart will be their safe refuge in this last moment.
