Today is the 50th anniversary of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. His work with the Civil Rights Movement helped to make America a more free nation – ending legal segregation, housing discrimination, and employment discrimination against African Americans. And his work toward equality was marked by his deep devotion to his Christian faith.
On this anniversary, Fr. Erich Rutten and Cynthia Manns, members of the Black Catholic Leadership Initiative Group, stopped by Morning Air® to reflect on the anniversary of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s death, as well as their experiences and work as African Americans in the Catholic Church.
