Beginning May 21, the Presence Radio Network in Portland, Maine, will become a part of the Relevant Radio® network. With the addition of these stations, the Relevant Radio network will broadcast Catholic programming to over 130 stations in 38 states reaching a potential listening audience of over 140 million people.
“We want to thank our listeners for their extraordinary generosity over the years, and we hope they’ll continue to support the Presence Radio, now as part of Relevant Radio,” said Cynthia Nickless, executive director of Presence Radio and newly appointment member of the Relevant Radio Board of Directors. “We are convinced that by joining Relevant, Catholic radio in Maine will be bigger and stronger than ever before.”
As a part of the Relevant Radio family, Presence Radio (89.5 FM, 90.3 FM, 89.7 FM, 1390 AM, and 106.7 FM in Maine) will be part of 67 owned and operated Relevant Radio stations, broadcasting Catholic talk radio 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Two stations owned by the Knights of Columbus, 97.5 FM and 105.7 FM, will become full-time Relevant Radio affiliates.
Relevant Radio produces over 85 hours of original programming each week and features a LIVE, interactive format of Church and world news, prayer, spiritual direction, and much more. As Presence Radio begins broadcasting Relevant Radio programming, listeners in Maine will continue to hear the local hour at 6am ET: the Holy Rosary with Bishop Deeley, Bishop Barron’s Word on Fire and Food for the Journey with Sr. Ann Shields.
“We are honored that such a well-managed and thriving local Catholic radio network would choose to join the growing Relevant Radio family. Together we are stronger, and in a healthier position to serve the Church and so many souls. Relevant Radio recognizes the great work that Cindy Nickless has done in building this network and we are thankful for her leadership as president of the Catholic Radio Association over the past number of years. Relevant Radio is truly humbled to serve the many dedicated and faithful listeners in the state of Maine,” said Rev. Francis Hoffman “Father Rocky”, Executive Director of Relevant Radio.
Relevant Radio exists to bring the beauty, goodness and truth of the Catholic Faith into everyday life, striving every day to bring souls to Christ. The Most Rev. Robert P. Deeley, Bishop of the Diocese of Portland has extended his blessing and welcomed Relevant Radio to serve the faithful of the diocese.
