Relevant Radio hosted a priest intern at the network national headquarters in Green Bay, Wisconsin, during the month of September. Father Sanesh George, a priest from India, interned at Relevant Radio for two weeks to learn the ins and outs of running a radio network.
Fr. Sanesh is from Aloor, India, and was ordained a priest of the Diocese of Irinjalakuda in 2011. He served as a parish priest before being sent to complete higher education at Holy Cross Pontifical University in Rome, where he received a licentiate in Communication.
Fr. Sanesh met with each of the departments at Relevant Radio to learn what they do and how their contributions support the organization. He spent time in the studio to learn a bit about what goes on behind-the-scenes of a live radio program, and learned about broadcasting technology and audio production. Fr. Sanesh hopes to put this knowledge of Catholic radio to use back home, where Catholics make up only 1-2% of the total population in India.
During his time in Green Bay, Fr. Sanesh was able to connect with Relevant Radio associates across the country by leading inservice groups to discuss the Catholic Church in India and answer questions about cultural differences in his home nation.
This is the fourth consecutive year that Relevant Radio has hosted a priest intern from Holy Cross University.
