Our Blessed Mother appeared to Adele Brise in a small town near Green Bay, Wisconsin, in the year 1859. She told her, “I am the Queen of Heaven.” Our Lady asked Adele to teach the children what they must learn for salvation: “Teach them their catechism, how to sign themselves with the sign of the Cross, and how to approach the sacraments; that is what I wish you to do. Go and fear nothing. I will help you.”
Today, at the site of the apparitions is the National Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help, the only Church-approved Marian apparition site in the United States. On this first day of the National Novena to Our Lady of Good Help, we pray that the Queen of Heaven would be our intercessor and advocate. We ask for her to reign in every area of our lives, our Church, and our nation. We beg her to help bring peace and healing where there is pain and division. Our Lady, Queen of Heaven, pray for us.

“I Am the Queen of Heaven”
O Mary, you were chosen to be the mother of the Savior, and reign now as the Queen Mother. We salute you as the Queen of Heaven, knowing that you are our intercessor and advocate. You are the Queen of Heaven and Earth, the Queen of Peace, the Queen of Apostles, and the Queen of Clergy. I ask you today, to be the Queen of my heart, my family, my diocese, and my country.
