Today’s bonus, behind-the-scenes-video: Sacred Vestments
Listen to today’s Lenten Lesson: The Crucifix
Every Catholic Church has a crucifix – which is a cross with the figure of Jesus Christ crucified.
Hi, this is Fr. Rocky, with our Fifth Lenten Lesson on the Mass.
The crucifix is in the sanctuary near the altar and should be clearly visible. It reminds us how much Jesus loved us and is an invitation to love Jesus in return. Maybe there is someone in your life right now who is difficult to love. If you gaze upon the body of Jesus on the crucifix in your church, you will find new strength, and it will put your own problems in a better perspective.
Someone once told Saint Mother Teresa: “I would not touch a leper for a million dollars!” to which Mother Teresa replied: “And I would not touch a leper for TWO million dollars! But I will touch a leper for the love of Christ.” By gazing upon the crucifix, our love for Christ goes deeper, and our charity towards others grows stronger.
