Knights of Columbus Texas State Council to receive Austin Christ Brings Hope Award

The Knights of Columbus Texas State Council will be the recipients of the Relevant Radio® Austin Christ Brings Hope Award for 2018. The Texas Knights will be honored at a dinner on Thursday, March 22nd at the Hyatt Regency Austin.

The Christ Brings Hope Award is presented by Relevant Radio to an American Catholic who has worked with extraordinary dedication to bring the good news and hope of Christ to all souls. This person exemplifies the virtues of charity, generosity, hope, apostolic zeal, and love for the Truth.

The Knights of Columbus Texas State Council has shown steadfast dedication to the Church and community by serving needy families, service men and women, veterans, the disabled, the poor, the youth, and the unborn. As the largest jurisdiction in North America, the Texas Knights have been a national leader, with 108,000 Knights contributing the most in dollars and volunteer hours to the Order’s ten-year record of more than $1.4 billion in charitable gifts and over 600 million hours of volunteer service. The Texas Knights have recently raised more than $1 million to donate 60 ultrasound machines to pregnancy centers.

The Knights’ work helping families, parishes, pro-life ministry, Special Olympics, and Christian refugees in the Middle East have exemplified the virtues we recognize through the Christ Brings Hope Award: charity, generosity, hope, apostolic zeal, and love for the Truth.

Accepting the Christ Bring Hope Award on behalf of the Texas Knights will be Texas State Deputy, Doug Oldmixon, and his wife, First Lady, Jo-Dee Benson.
