Join Relevant Radio at the Walk to Mary

Do you love Our Blessed Mother? Would you like to spend a day in prayer and pilgrimage with hundreds of faithful Catholics? The sixth annual Walk to Mary is less than a month away, and you’re invited to join us!

The Walk to Mary is a 21-mile walking pilgrimage from the National Shrine of Saint Joseph in De Pere, Wisconsin, to the National Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help in Champion, Wisconsin. Relevant Radio is a sponsor of the event, and many of our associates and listeners will be in attendance, including Father Rocky, Executive Director. It’s a beautiful, spiritual journey that is sure to strengthen your faith.

“The Walk to Mary is a full body and soul experience that will deepen your relationship with Jesus, Mary and Joseph, plus all the other folks you walk with that day. This 21 mile walking pilgrimage—about the same distance Jesus and his Apostles would walk from time to time—allows us to confront two chief obstacles to living our faith today: the easy life, and isolation. It’s not easy to walk so far, and you never walk alone! Come walk with us and bring a special intention, or make this journey in thanksgiving for all the blessings you have received,” said Father Rocky.

Pilgrims come from all over the country to take part in the pilgrimage—last year over 1,000 attended! If 21 miles sounds like a lot, there are also several options to join the walk at different points, including the two-mile ‘Walk with the Children” for families.

“As part of the New Evangelization, I invite all in our area who are able to join in this journey of faith. Participation in this pilgrimage is a wonderful way to engage the entire family, and especially our young people,” said the Most Rev. David Ricken, Bishop of the Diocese of Green Bay and member of the Relevant Radio Board of Directors.

What’s the point of all this, you might ask? According to the event website, “We walk because life is a journey of discovery and revelation, not a destination.  Along the way, we tire, toil and triumph.  We empty ourselves out, making room for the Holy Spirit to expand within us.  When we arrive, tired and exhausted, we encounter the Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help as a refreshing oasis along life’s journey, offering respite for all who are weary and thirsty.”
