Why Abortion is Always the Wrong Choice

Is abortion ever OK? Being pro-life is about recognizing and upholding the dignity of every human person, and so when it comes to conversations about abortion, it is important to consider the dignity of both the mother and the child. But this leads some people to believe there are exceptions in which abortion is the right choice – rape being one of them.

Sexual assault is a horrific violation of human dignity, and therefore many people feel it would be compassionate to offer abortion as an acceptable option for those who have been raped. Recently on The Patrick Madrid Show a listener debated Patrick on the morality of abortion and suggested that it would be immoral to expect women who have been raped to give birth to the child. After their conversation a flood of calls came in from women who gave birth to their children conceived in rape. They shared that though the road may be difficult, abortion is always the wrong choice.
