They’re called the ‘lazy days of summer’, but not for us! We’ve been hard at work and recently shared some monumental news about the future of Relevant Radio^®. If you don’t already know, I’ll get you up to speed…

On August 15, Relevant Radio announced the intention to purchase nine AM stations and four FM translators from Salem Media Group in eight markets: Boston, Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, St. Louis, Denver, and Youngstown. This would increase our reach to 220,000,000 souls in the United States! We’ve gotten great feedback from our listeners and many people who can’t wait to hear Relevant Radio in their city! We anticipate being on air in these new markets sometime in October. Media Release.

Here’s more great news from August:

We hosted a priest intern again this summer from Holy Cross University in Rome. Fr. Nat is a priest from the Philippines who has just completed his studies in communications and spent a few weeks at our Relevant Radio headquarters to learn about Catholic media and running a radio network. We had a very successful August Pledge Drive exceeding our need of $2.3 million through the generosity of over 10,500 donors! I’m amazed at how God is working through our listeners and supporters, who generously join the Relevant Radio mission to bring Christ to the world.

We send our prayers for all of the teachers, parents, and students who have been going back to school—may you grow in knowledge, faith, and virtue this school year.
