Marian Pentecost Novena: Day 7

Today is May 27, and Pentecost is four days away.

Some authors claim that the four most important apparitions of Our Lady in human history are Guadalupe, Lourdes, Fatima, and Our Lady of Good Help in Wisconsin. All four have been officially approved by the Church. All four are moments when Our Lady intervened in a powerful way in human history.

At Guadalupe in 1531, Mary’s merciful and hopeful presence sparked massive conversions to the one true faith all over the Americas. At Lourdes in 1858, Mary’s merciful presence led to the miraculous cures of thousands of faithful. At Fatima in 1917, Mary warned of the wars and persecutions that all came true in the 20th century. And at Our Lady of Good Help, the Blessed Mother saved the day on October 8, 1871, when the city of Chicago and Northern Wisconsin burned down.  The local farmers who sought refuge at the Shrine were saved that day.

Mary is at the crossroads of history and miracles still happen. You don’t have to take my word for it. Just ask anyone who’s been to these shrines and have received miracles!

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my mother; to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me.  Amen.
