Desiring An Encounter with Jesus

Have you had a personal encounter with Jesus Christ? Of course, we encounter Him in His Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity in the Eucharist, but some people – even lifelong Catholics – have not felt His presence in their lives.

Earlier this week, a woman named Mary called in to Father Simon Says™explaining that she was 80 years old, had been Catholic her entire life, and yet had never had a personal encounter with Jesus Christ, and she greatly desired one.

Father Richard Simon invited Mary to pray the following prayer with him.

Lord Jesus, I love you with all my heart. I want to know you more deeply, and I want to feel your presence in my life more fully. I give you everything. My blessings, my sins, my virtues, and my faults. Lord Jesus, I invite you to be the bridegroom of my soul.

Father Simon then prayed for Mary, saying, “Lord, I ask you to bless my sister, to fill her heart, and pour out Your Holy Spirit upon her, even as we speak. Let her know that you love her, and that you have loved her all her life, and that you have always been with her. That you are faithful.”

If you desire a personal encounter with the Lord, take some quiet time in prayer today and offer up the prayer that Fr. Simon prayed with Mary. Ask for the grace to experience the words Jesus told us, “Behold, I am with you always, even until the end of the age.”
