Day 20: Virgin Most Renowned, Pray for Us!

There are close to a quarter million Catholic Churches in the world today, with an average of 5000 parishioners each. Step into a Catholic Church anywhere, and you should always see four things: the Tabernacle, the Altar, the Crucifix, and an Image of the Blessed Mother, usually up in the front, either on the right or the left. Everyone recognizes Our Lady, even non-Catholics. One day some years ago, the then President George W. Bush was cordially greeting supporters and friends at a reception in Washington, D.C.. President Bush met a woman from Minnesota who was wearing a small image of Our Lady of Guadalupe on her lapel. With a smile and bright eyes he did a double take and asked her, “Hey, who’s that sweet lady on your lapel?” “W” called his wife Laura over and pointed to the image and quipped, “THAT’s our girl!!” Most renowned.

Virgin Most Renowned, pray for the Church and the nation.

On Sundays we pray the Glorious Mysteries.
