The Juxtaposition Between Angels and Demons

Angels live in another dimension, and we don’t know that much about them. But today we celebrate the Feast of the Archangels, of which we know the names of three—Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael.

“There are difference kinds of creatures in the universe. You mean like extraterrestrials—no! I mean like extra-dimensionals. We call them angels and we’ve always known they are there. There are good ones and there are bad ones,” said Fr. Richard Simon of Father Simon Says.

The bad ones—the devil and the demons—roam about the earth working for our destruction. “Saint Peter says that the devil goes about like a roaring lion seeking someone to devour. He’s not going anywhere-he’s looking for something to eat,” said Fr. Simon.

On the other hand, the good angels work for our good. They are heavenly messengers from God. “The devil goes around in circles … but the angels go up and down. In other words, the angels ascend to heaven and descend. They’re messengers; they have a task, a purpose.”

We can protect ourselves from these demons, bad angels, by strengthening our will. Fasting and praying, becoming more self-aware and self-denying, we can overcome the traps and snares that the demons throw in our way.

It’s also important to remember today and on Friday (the feast of the guardian angels) that we should pray and ask the angels to help us in this earthly journey. They can help protect your soul and guide you to eternal life.
