Day 27: Spiritual Vessel, Pray for Us!

A vessel contains and delivers things. A sailing vessel contains and delivers sailors and cargo. A crystal vessel may contain precious perfume. The more precious the treasure, the more beautiful the vessel. The Blessed Mother contained and delivered the Son of God, and in the spiritual vessel of her soul dwelled the Holy Spirit.

Have you ever wondered why Christopher Columbus named his sailing vessel Santa Maria? He wanted to count on the sure protection of the Blessed Mother on that courageous and daring voyage. If I owned a sailboat, I would call her Estelle de Mati, which means “Morning Star” in Catalan.

Hail Mary, Daughter of God the Father. Hail Mary, Mother of God the Son.  Hail Mary, Spouse of God the Holy Spirit.  Greater than you, no one but God.

Mary Spiritual Vessel, pray for the Church and the nation.

On Sundays we pray the Glorious Mysteries.
