In today’s Gospel from Matthew Chapter 22 the Pharisees once again try to trap Jesus. They ask if it is ok to pay taxes to the unjust government of the Roman occupation. He tells them to render to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God the things that are God’s. What does God want us to give Him? He wants us to give Him ourselves. Everything we do must be guided by our desire to spend eternity in heaven with our God.
