Today we celebrate the feast day of St. Catherine of Alexandria. She is the patron saint of philosophers because Alexandria was the academic center of Egypt when she lived there in the third century. She won the debates with the pagan philosophers of the time for which she payed the ultimate price of a martyrs death. St. Catherine of Alexandria, pray for us!
