Today the Church celebrates the feast of St. Paul Miki and his companions.  St. Paul Miki was a Jesuit Japanese Seminarian. He and his companions were killed by soldiers who thrust a lance into their chests. Before he died, St. Paul Miki forgave his persecutors and even the emperor who ordered their killing.
