Let’s be honest, the last year has been a doozy. There has been unrest, instability, and personal losses for many. During such times, it’s essential to find things that soothe and strengthen your heart, mind, and soul. This week during our Give From the Heart Pledge Drive we have heard from countless listeners who told us how Relevant Radio® has helped soothe their soul during these tumultuous times.
In just one example, a listener named Ray in California recently called-in to The Patrick Madrid Show to share what Relevant Radio has meant for him over the past year.
Ray told Patrick, “I’ve been working with my mom for the last three years. I moved from South Dakota to be with her and my brother in her time of need. She passed in August, and it’s brought up a lot. We had to settle a lot of issues in the family dynamics.”
Ray said that despite the desperate times he experienced over the past few years, he was able to turn to Relevant Radio.
“Relevant Radio has been there in the midst of it,” he said. “During the times I couldn’t sleep I would put it on and it would soothe my spirit and allow me to sleep. You have no idea how soothing this radio station is for people like me who have to be up with my mom all night. When it’s time to sleep I put you on and it just soothes my spirit. It’s got to be the Holy Spirit.”
What you might find remarkable about Ray is that he is not even Catholic. But, in fact, we have many non-Catholic listeners like Ray who listen faithfully and even support Relevant Radio financially.
“I’m not even Catholic but I’ve been listening for the last couple of years. I just wanted to thank you, and I became a donor during the last pledge drive. I’ve been giving every time you have a pledge drive but I decided I was going to be a $20 per month donor because I really believe in your radio station,” Ray shared.
When you find something that lifts your spirit, soothes your soul, and brings light to the darkness it’s hard to keep that to yourself.
Ray told Patrick, “I tell everybody that I talk to about you guys, and I have a bumper sticker on the back of my van. It’s the only sticker I have on my van, and it’s a Relevant Radio sticker. I really appreciate you guys.”
