If you are a regular listen of The Patrick Madrid Show, you may know Sam from Athens, Georgia. (You can find his story here.) This week, Sam called in with two pieces of wonderful news.
After calling in 2020 to tell Patrick that he had been diagnosed with cancer, Sam told him, “I am now a cancer survivor.”
Patrick shared in his joy and this great blessing of healing.
“I want to thank you and Cyrus and Jim and Matt and John Harper, and everyone for praying for me. Father Rocky and all of your listeners for praying and helping and being there for me when I needed somebody,” said Sam.
He said that the change in him from November 2020 is drastic. He has found hope, faith, and healing. “I am so happy today,” he explained. “It’s like yesterday was a new birthday, the first day of the rest of my life.”
As a second piece of good news, Sam shared that he is just a few weeks away from joining the Catholic Church and receiving the sacraments at the Easter Vigil on April 3, 2021. As a former Baptist, he credits Relevant Radio and Patrick Madrid with inspiring his conversion over the past several years.
“I began listening and learning new things that I had never heard and that they don’t teach you outside the Catholic Church. And everything I heard, I researched and thought about and prayed about. And it’s just … I don’t know how to put it, it’s so powerful. It’s just the truth. I heard the truth and I wanted to be part of it.”
