Today, the Church celebrates the conception of Jesus, or more commonly known as the Solemnity of the Annunciation. It is the day when the Blessed Virgin Mary gave her yes to becoming the mother of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In many countries, today is also the celebration of the international day of the unborn child.
