How a Radio and the Rosary Brought One Woman Hope and Healing

The Rosary is a powerful devotion, and here at Relevant Radio® we have heard from countless listeners who tell us that hearing the Rosary on the radio brought them peace, hope, and healing right when they needed it most. Many share that during a difficult time they stumbled upon Relevant Radio by accident, and hearing the Rosary on the air was like God reaching out to them in their suffering.

A listener named Nancy called in to The Inner Life® to share her story of how hearing the Rosary on the radio brought her hope and healing after the death of her husband and son.

She explained, “Our oldest son, who was 48 at the time, had left the Church completely. He was Christian, but he had left the Church. It saddened us very much, as we had six children and he was one who didn’t stay Catholic. He passed away from an accidental death at work, it was very sudden, in 2003. And the next year my husband passed away.”

Nancy explained that she was a cradle Catholic and had raised her children in the faith, but praying the Rosary was not a part of her life. Until one day, shortly after the death of her husband, she found her son’s radio that he used all the time. She put her son’s radio in her bedroom.

Then Nancy explained, “It had the alarm on it, but I didn’t know how to change it. It came on around 6:30 in the morning. And Tom never listened to a Catholic station, and I didn’t either, but somehow it was on [Relevant Radio] and it came on every morning with the Rosary.”

“I thought that was unusual, since Tom wasn’t even Catholic. But I didn’t know how to change the station on the alarm. So anyway, I thought if I’m going to listen to the Rosary every day I might as well start praying it. So I did. And I haven’t stopped since.”

Nancy shared that praying the Rosary has helped her heal from the tragedies in her life, and that it brings her hope that the one son who left the Church was the one who brought her closer to the Lord. She said, “I just feel that somehow he had helped out with his radio.”
