The Month of the Holy Rosary

October is the month of the Holy Rosary, a prayer wholly focused on asking for the intercession of Mary, the Blessed Virgin Mary of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

As St. Josemaría said, the home is a spotlight for love: human love between husbands and wives, fathers and mothers, and brothers and sisters; but also divine love, like our devotion and love for Mary, who will always lead us to her Son. We meditate on the mysteries during the Rosary because they give us insight into the special events of the lives of Our Lord and His mother.

“Certainly the whole mystery of Christ is a mystery of light. He is the ‘light of the world’ (Jn 8:12). Yet this truth emerges in a special way during the years of his public life, when he proclaims the Gospel of the Kingdom.” (Rosarium Virginis Mariae, Para. 21)

Throughout this month, we are called to dedicate ourselves, our intentions, and our prayers to Our Lady through the Holy Rosary. And here at Relevant Radio, we offer an opportunity for families and individuals to participate in this consecration on a much more universal level: The Family Rosary Across America.

Something that Relevant Radio has tried to impress upon its listeners throughout its existence is the importance of the Blessed Virgin Mary and her intercession. We launched the Family Rosary Across America to extend to you the joyful truth that we are not alone in our journey to grow closer to Christ. Nobody knows Him better than His mother, so we go to her together every night through the Rosary. We have seen miraculous recoveries from illnesses and injuries, we have seen people return to the Church after long absences, and we have seen battles won, physical or otherwise, as a result of this prayer.

Every weeknight at 7pm CT, Relevant Radio hosts the Rosary live for its listeners from around the world to participate in. Praying those 5 decades with your Catholic brothers and sisters is a convenient yet beautiful way to show your devotion to Our Lady, especially during October.
