Also, Patrick assures you that you don’t need to be afraid to go to the Sacrament of Reconciliation. He quotes St. John Vianney who said that “priests should be a lion at the pulpit and a lamb in the confessional.” In other words, priests should be compassionate and show loving counsel when you receive this sacrament. They are not there to yell at you.
